A vision for an inclusive community space and a hub of disability support in the heart of Blaby District.
To mark our 125th year, we are excited to announce our vision to create an all-encompassing hub for the local disabled community in the heart of Blaby District in Whetstone, Leicestershire.
Embarking on this project on the 125th anniversary of the charity aims to act as a catalyst to further our work in enhancing the lives of disabled people by creating spaces where disabled communities can thrive.
The three buildings on site promise to become an all-encompassing hub for the local disabled community in the heart of Blaby in Whetstone, Leicestershire. Here are just some of the ways the chapel, community buildings and the manse are set to enhance the lives of disabled people.
Care.
Support.
Community.
The Chapel
A vibrant space for community, engagement, involvement, and support. We want to create a place where everyone is welcome, a place of community spirit, work, and volunteering opportunities, and above all else positive impact for all.
Some of the events and services to run from the chapel include:
-
Exhibitions and Events
-
Information Services
-
Outreach Projects
-
Support Groups
-
Vocational Training
The location of the Whetstone Baptist Church is particularly significant, as it has been a staple in the community for many years. We're committed to preserving the historic nature of the building while
modernising it to meet the needs of disabled people and the wider community.
Together,
we can do so much.
The Community Buildings
We'll be working tirelessly to transform the community buildings into truly accessible and equipped spaces, complete with sensory rooms and changing places, for the delivery of care and support services for disabled people.
The buildings will compliment our Head Office and become another home to Mosaic 1898's Adult Day Services and Children's groups.
The versatility of the space excitingly allows us to engage with the local community, schools, and businesses to do so much more - a hub of social good.
There's no place like home.
The Manse
An around the clock respite care facility providing sought after non-nursing short breaks for disabled people with complex needs.
This purposeful provision will offer Leicestershire families and caregivers the support and means to take respite with peace of mind that their loved ones are well cared for.
We know first hand how much a place like this is needed in Leicestershire. A home away from home.
We're excited by the road ahead and we'd love to invite you to join us and be a part of the journey. Get in touch with us if you'd like to get involved in any way.
