We know that it’s not right to just put on good services and hope that people come. We have to build community and grow relationships. We have to listen. All of our life-enhancing services have been shaped by people with a disability over many decades. We keep listening and we’ll keep responding.
Direct Payments Support Service
Our experienced and trusted team can help you to access financial support and have choices about getting any help you might need to live well. If you are receiving direct payments, we give you the choice and control to decide what support you receive and where you get that support from. We can help you to understand your responsibilities, organise care that’s right for you, manage payments and more.
We provide temporary or permanent care services shaped to the needs of each individual. This could be from supporting you with everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning, to personal care, companionship and enabling you to take part in recreational activities (like taking you swimming, to the bingo and to sporting events like the basketball). Whatever you are interested in, we want to enable you to better access your community.
Working in many different community venues across Leicestershire, we provide life-enhancing, person-centred activities and services promoting inclusion and enjoyment. From supported sensory room sessions at our purpose-built centre, to accessing opportunities and independence in the community and through our groups (e.g. sailing lessons, theatre trips, shopping, gardening, exercise sessions, accessible holidays and much more). We want to be led by you, your needs and your interests. We love seeing the friendships, fun and life experiences that are formed through our Creating Opportunities community.
Liberty, Advocacy and Voice
Our advocacy support services encourage and equip people to share their ideas, have their say and to inspire positive change. We help bring people together who might share the same concerns and hopes for change, for example our Advocacy Groups for Learning Disability, Autism, Mental Health and more. We aim to create a platform for your important voice to be heard and represented and to ensure you are treated with dignity and respect.
In addition to our four main services, we also offer a range of smaller, ad-hoc services including arranging DBS checks and providing RADAR keys that give access to accessible toilets in the UK.
