Investors In People
How we got Investors In People status…
November 1999 saw the start of mosaic working towards getting the Investors In People Award. The award is about looking at how organisations work towards developing the training needs of staff and the overall aims and development of organisations. For mosaic, this included:
- reviewing our Training Plan: a written document put into practice to enable staff to access the training they needed. A Training Log was set up to record the various courses staff had attended and help them progress within their jobs.
- producing a Business Plan: includes targets and deadlines for staff and their teams. This was a positive way of developing the skills of staff, improving teamwork and building on our services.
An External Assessor visited mosaic on 28 September and on 1 October and interviewed a random selection of staff. Questions asked were based on training needs, how they were met and how the organisation was working towards supporting its staff.
The Assessor and an Assessment Panel considered mosaic for the Award and on 25 October 2001, announced that mosaic were an Investor In People and therefore should receive the Award. Barbara Howard, Director and Jean Adcock, Chairperson were formally presented the plaque on 7 December 2001 and is now in place in reception. The logo will now feature on many of our letters and publications. The Board of Trustees congratulate all of mosaic’s staff for the hard work they have put into this.
20 December 2004 saw us being reviewed by an external assessor for Investors In People. We are reviewed once every three years to ensure we are still working in line with their guidelines.
